Softball Recap: Rosemead Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Rosemead's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 17-12 win over the Mountain View Vikings. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

JAZMIN SLAYTON was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JENAVEE HOLGUIN, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rosemead kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Rosemead moved to 6-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Mountain View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, Rosemead and Mountain View will both be playing Arroyo the next time they take the field. The Panthers will head out to face the Knights at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, while the Vikings will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
