Baseball Recap: Umatilla Comes Up Short

Umatilla was the 6-4 winner over Eustis when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Umatilla Bulldogs took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eustis Panthers on Friday.

Aidan Ross was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Jayden Hampson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Umatilla's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Eustis, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, Umatilla and Deltona will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Eustis, they will head out on the road to face off against Pine Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
