Softball Game Preview: Mooresville Pioneers vs. Carmel Greyhounds

The Mooresville Pioneers are taking a road trip to challenge the Carmel Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mooresville is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

On Wednesday, Mooresville made easy work of Greenwood and carried off a 13-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Aubrey Todd made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Sophie Culp was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April. Another player making a difference was Olivia Turner, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Carmel came up short against Cathedral on Wednesday and fell 9-6. The Greyhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jayden Kleiner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Winni Owens, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Mooresville, their record now sits at 14-5.
