Football Game Preview: Northeastern Jets vs. Anna Rockets

The Northeastern Jets will face off against the Anna Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Northeastern is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Rock Hill to the tune of 59-0. The win was nothing new for the Jets as they're now sitting on five straight.

Meanwhile, Anna was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Mechanicsburg 45-12. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-12.

Northeastern better focus on containing Trenton Roberts and Tyson Vaubel as the pair were huge in Anna's win. Roberts rushed for 92 yards and one score on only seven carries, while Vaubel gained 58 total yards. Those 92 rushing yards gave Roberts a new career-high.

Anna didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kale Hoying, Carter Edwards, and Wyatt Howell picked up one apiece.

Northeastern's record now sits at 10-1. As for Anna, their record is now 9-3.

Northeastern lost to Anna on the road by a decisive 17-3 margin in their previous matchup back in October of 2021. Can the Jets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
