Volleyball Game Preview: Claremont Wolfpack vs. Damien Spartans

The Claremont Wolfpack will head out on the road to square off against the Damien Spartans at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Claremont came up short against Upland on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Wolfpack haven't had much luck with the Highlanders/Scots recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Claremont couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Upland a tough time in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 32-30, 25-22, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Damien was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Los Osos.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Damien sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11.

Claremont's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Damien, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everything went Claremont's way against Damien in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Claremont made off with a 3-0 victory. Does Claremont have another victory up their sleeve, or will Damien turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
