Recap: Long County Blue Tide vs. Beach Bulldogs
The Long County Blue Tide scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They skirted past Beach 55-52. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Long County also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Despite the defeat, Beach saw an underclassman step up: Mariah Reid scored 24 points along with four steals. That was a full 46.2% of Beach's points, marking the 20th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ashley Jones, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Long County's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
Long County will head out on the road to face off against Liberty County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Georgia (Long County is ranked 368th, while Liberty County is ranked 344th). As for Beach, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Savannah Country Day at 6:00 p.m. Beach will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 365th, while Savannah Country Day is ranked 155th).
