Carly Mobley was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, June Jiannuzzi and Mia Wilkins did most of the damage at the plate: Jiannuzzi scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Wilkins scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Those two hits gave Jiannuzzi a new career-high. Kaylee Gifford also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Old Plank Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
While First Coast Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out Eagle's View 13-11. The game was the first time the Knights have beaten the Warriors on their field since May 1, 2023.
Maddie Kramer was excellent, scoring four runs while going 2-for-2. Jaisha Upperman was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
First Coast Christian's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-1. As for Old Plank Christian Academy, their record now sits at 2-4.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Old Plank Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .486. However, it's not like First Coast Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .660. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
