Volleyball Recap: Cloudcroft Comes Up Short

After flying high against Capitan on Thursday, Cloudcroft came back down to earth. The Bears lost 3-0 to the Lordsburg Mavericks on Saturday. The Bears have struggled against the Mavericks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While Cloudcroft was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-17.

Cloudcroft's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Lordsburg, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cloudcroft will face off against rival Mescalero Apache at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lordsburg is set to square off against their familiar foe Mesilla Valley Christian School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
