Basketball Recap: Crosspointe Christian Academy Piles Up the Points Against Community Baptist Christian

Crosspointe Christian Academy won the last time they faced Community Baptist Christian and things went their way on Thursday too. The Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers claimed a resounding 72-42 victory over the Community Baptist Christian Cougars. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 30 points or more this season.

Leading Crosspointe Christian Academy to victory were Coltenn Wagner and Phil Fitzsimmons. Wagner dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds, while Fitzsimmons went 9 for 11 en route to 18 points and seven boards. Wagner's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Daniel Myer was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Community Baptist Christian lost, don't look at Sam Maller. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 16 on his way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daviea Jones, who posted seven points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Crosspointe Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games. As for Community Baptist Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Crosspointe Christian Academy and Community Baptist Christian will both be playing Maranatha Baptist the next time they take the court.
