Bluffton extends road winning streak to six

Recap: Bluffton Bobcats vs. James Island Trojans

The Bluffton Bobcats entered their tilt with the James Island Trojans with 16 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 17. Bluffton managed a 47-43 victory over James Island on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bluffton also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Bluffton was led to victory by Ja'laina Mosley and Tacoya Heyward. Mosley scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, while Heyward dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Heyward has scored at least a third of Bluffton's points.

Despite the loss, James Island still got an impressive performance from Andrea Duncan, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That was a full 51.2% of James Island's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Shante Deas, who scored four points along with ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, James Island smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bluffton only pulled down nine offensive rebounds.

Bluffton's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-1. As for James Island, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.

Bluffton will head out on the road to challenge May River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bluffton is facing May River at the right time seeing as May River is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for James Island, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hilton Head Island at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
