Softball Game Preview: Port Huron Northern Huskies vs. Croswell-Lexington Pioneers

The Port Huron Northern Huskies will take on the Croswell-Lexington Pioneers at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Port Huron Northern will be strutting in after a win while Croswell-Lexington will be coming in after a loss.

Port Huron Northern got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They blew past Grosse Pointe South 15-5. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Croswell-Lexington unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Yale.

Port Huron Northern is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Croswell-Lexington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Port Huron Northern skirted past Croswell-Lexington 8-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2021. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
