Basketball Game Preview: South Wake Sabres vs. Southeastern HomeSchool Cardinals

Two dominant guards in Noah Wright and Blake Batts are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The South Wake Sabres will take on the Southeastern HomeSchool Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, South Wake escaped with a win against St. David's by the margin of a single free throw, 64-63.

Wright continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and five rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marcus Webb, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Southeastern HomeSchool entered their tilt with New Life Camp on Friday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They strolled past the Storm with points to spare, taking the game 65-46. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Storm are ranked 336th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southeastern HomeSchool's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for South Wake, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

South Wake came up short against Southeastern HomeSchool in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 66-61. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Batts, who shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine boards.
