Basketball Recap: Greeneview Rams vs. West Jefferson Roughriders

Greeneview had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 7-10 to make it four. They fell 64-55 to the West Jefferson Roughriders. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Roughriders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

As for West Jefferson, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points over those games.

Austin Buescher produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 29 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of West Jefferson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Switalski, who posted six points and six boards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greeneview will welcome Fayetteville-Perry at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Jefferson, they will square off against Cedarville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Roughriders will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.
