Basketball Game Preview: Lakewood Vikings vs. Portland Raiders

The Lakewood Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Portland Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Lakewood came up short against Hastings and fell 53-41. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Portland entered their tilt with Shepherd on Monday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Bluejays 58-28. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Bluejays are ranked 557th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Portland, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.

Lakewood lost to Portland on the road by a decisive 50-36 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Lakewood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
