Football Recap: Simeon Skates Past Brooks with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bolingbrook, Simeon was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Brooks Eagles 62-0. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Eagles are ranked 444th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anthony Croom Jr. had an outrageously good game as he threw for 187 yards and four TDs on perfect 7-for-7 passing, and also rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown. Lovell Smith helped out on the ground, rushing for 85 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Simeon's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Brooks, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Simeon is set to face off against their familiar foe Taft at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. Meanwhile, Brooks will challenge rival Payton College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
