Basketball Recap: St. John's/Tipton Catholic Skates Past Osborne with Ease

St. John's/Tipton Catholic hadn't done well against Osborne recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The St. John's/Tipton Catholic Blujays really took it to the Osborne Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-12 win. That 51 point margin sets a new team best for the Blujays this season.

Edward Horinek was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 12 on his way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Gates, who posted five points and six assists.

The victory made it two in a row for St. John's/Tipton Catholic and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Osborne, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, St. John's/Tipton Catholic and Lincoln will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. Lincoln will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something St. John's/Tipton Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. As for Osborne, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rock Hills at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th.
