Soccer Recap: Pius X Victorious

Pius X kept a clean sheet against Gretna East on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Griffins, sneaking past 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Pius X were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Leo Fulton, which was the first he's scored this season.

The win made it two in a row for Pius X and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for Gretna East, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pius X is set to take on their familiar foe Mount Michael Benedictine on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gretna East will square off against rival Gretna at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
