Basketball Game Preview: Avon Eagles vs. New Albany Eagles

Avon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They strolled past Stow-Munroe Falls with points to spare, taking the game 59-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, New Albany had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Sunday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-39 win over the Vikings. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Vikings are ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Avon pushed their record up to 14-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points over those games. As for New Albany, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.
