Football Game Preview: Olympian Eagles vs. Hilltop Lancers + How To Watch

The Olympian Eagles will head out to challenge the Hilltop Lancers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Olympian sitting on three straight wins and Hilltop on four.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Olympian and Bonita Vista meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Eagles claimed a resounding 38-7 victory over the Barons. Considering the Eagles have won seven contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Fuentes had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 286 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 71 yards and one touchdown. Jayce Reimer was another key player, rushing for 53 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Hilltop hadn't done well against Montgomery recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lancers walked away with a 28-20 win over the Aztecs. 28 seems to be a good number for the Lancers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Hilltop's win came from a few key players Olympian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Leo Mendoza, who rushed for 156 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August. Julian Moran was in the mix too, providing Hilltop with two touchdowns.

Hilltop was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 201 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 156 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Hilltop didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Abraham Matuz, Moran, and Tre Nichols III picked up one apiece.

Olympian's record now sits at 8-1. As for Hilltop, their record is now 6-3.

Olympian strolled past Hilltop when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 28-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
