Basketball Recap: Stevenson Takes a Loss

If Stevenson was feeling good fresh off their 63-25 takedown of Thurston last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Stevenson Spartans took a 60-45 bruising from the Mercy Marlins on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Marlins are ranked 16th).

Stevenson has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season. Mercy is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Stevenson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mercy, they will take on Wayne Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wayne Memorial comes in on four and Mercy on seven.
