Softball Recap: Mercy Bears vs. Lowell Cardinals        
        
		
            
 Mercy can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent  contest  on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lowell Cardinals  a   14-0 shutout. The  win was some much needed relief for Mercy as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
  J Villavicencio was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. Villavicencio has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season. Villavicencio was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news, Mercy let  G Ortega and  R Lask loose on the outfield. Ortega  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances, while  Lask  went 2-for-3 with five  RBI, two  runs,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  A Anderson, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Mercy now  has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Lowell, their  loss was their first of the  season and makes their record 7-1.
 Mercy will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Notre Dame at 4:00  p.m.  on April 11th. As for Lowell, they will look to defend their home field  on Tuesday against Lincoln at 3:30  p.m.
