Softball Game Preview: Saranac Redhawks vs. Perry Ramblers

The Saranac Redhawks will head out on the road to challenge the Perry Ramblers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Saranac turned things around against Fulton on Monday. They never let the Pirates get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The contest marked the Redhawks' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Perry came out on top against Carson City-Crystal on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Ramblers put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Ramblers, who have now won three games in a row.

Perry's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Saranac, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Saranac was able to grind out a solid victory over Perry in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 8-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redhawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
