Basketball Game Preview: Laurens Raiders vs. Clinton Red Devils

Laurens hasn't had much luck against Clinton recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Both will face off at 6:45 p.m. without much rest having both just played.

On Tuesday, Laurens lost to Westside at home by a 47-31 margin. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Rams are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Clinton blew past Columbia, posting a 63-11 victory. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Clinton's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Laurens, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Laurens came up short against Clinton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 29-23. Can Laurens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
