One team took the elevator way up and another took it way down in the power rankings this week. Among the action were the efforts of Puyallup's senior Jacob Holcomb, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Welcome
The Lakes offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. Everything went its way against Roosevelt as it secured a 55 - 15 win. Senior Liam Bladow was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he tossed the ball for 336 yards and five TDs). The victory also thrust Lakes into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 22nd spot.
Can't Touch This
Puyallup's 65 - 35 win over Kennedy Catholic last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Jacob Holcomb. Holcomb threw for 366 yards and five touchdowns. That performance made Holcomb one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Bothell and Camas, 10th and 31st in the MaxPreps state rankings, respectively. Bothell won a game that couldn't get any closer, slipping by Camas 36 - 35. Bothell and Camas were a much more even match than Bothell's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Eastlake (13th in the power rankings) and Gonzaga Prep (9th). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Only one team will win this week, so we'll see which team fails to repeat its success.
