Meanwhile, Grand Valley didn't have quite enough to beat St. John on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Mustangs have struggled against the Fighting Herald recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Grand Valley started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-15, 15-12.

Grand Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Pymatuning Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
