Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Takes a Loss

St. Joseph Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Escondido Charter Tigers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in September.

While St. Joseph Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-21.

Kristen Elsner paced St. Joseph Academy's offense, picking up eight kills. Elsner got some help from Adley Fontaine and her ten assists. Lauren Elsner controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Escondido Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but ALAINA CASTRONOVO led the charge by getting 15 digs and two aces.

St. Joseph Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-22. As for Escondido Charter, the win snapped their losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 22-14 record.

As of now, neither St. Joseph Academy nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
