Basketball Recap: Ryan Pate Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

Hart 2 Hart Academy won the last time they faced First Christian, and things went their way on Monday too. The Hart 2 Hart Academy Warriors took down the First Christian Lions 50-34. The Warriors pushed the score to 42-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.

Hart 2 Hart Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Pate led the charge by going 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Pate a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Bliffin, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Hart 2 Hart Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for First Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hart 2 Hart Academy will challenge Westwood Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for First Christian, they will take on Corinth Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
