Football Recap: Bluff Dale Bobcats vs. Brookesmith Mustangs
Bluff Dale won the last time they faced Brookesmith, and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bluff Dale Bobcats walked away with a 32-20 win over the Brookesmith Mustangs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.
Austin Saucedo had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 31 yards and a touchdown. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2023. Another rusher making a difference was Eli Cashion, who gained 92 total yards and a touchdown.
Bluff Dale wouldn't let Brookesmith keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force four fumbles. Dillion Wells led the group effort, picking up two of those forced fumbles all by himself. Case Davis didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble and made a tackle (1.0 for loss).
Bluff Dale's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-0. As for Brookesmith, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bluff Dale will head out to face off against Covington at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brookesmith, they will square off against Moran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Moran focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday.
