Chiefland came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-1 to Trenton.

Trey Meeks made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Bell and Bronson have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. Bell put the hurt on Bronson with a sharp 11-1 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Jackson Philman was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Bell is undefeated when Philman allowstwo or fewer hits, but 4-5 otherwise. Philman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February.

In other batting news, Rocco Iovinelli was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jorge Gonzalez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Bell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bronson only posted an OBP of .136.

Bell pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Chiefland, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Chiefland was able to grind out a solid victory over Bell in their previous matchup back in February, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chiefland since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
