Basketball Recap: Lane Comes Up Short

Lane lost against Long Island City back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lane Knights took a 31-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Long Island City Bulldogs. The Knights' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it nine in a row.

Lane's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Long Island City, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lane will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bayside on February 1st. Long Island City also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Flushing at 4:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
