Baseball Recap: Liberty Common's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Liberty Common made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Vikings a 7-0 shutout on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Vikings on Monday, they had to take a 13-0 defeat.

Roman Galindo was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Galindo was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Owen Hood, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Liberty Common is undefeated when Hood posts three or more hits, but 2-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Weibler, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Liberty Common kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Liberty Common's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Coming up, Liberty Common will face off against Platte Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Valley, they will take on Fort Morgan at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.31 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
