Volleyball Game Preview: Spanish Fork Dons vs. Bonneville Lakers

The Spanish Fork Dons will square off against the Bonneville Lakers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Spanish Fork is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Maple Mountain, who was ranked first at the time (Spanish Fork was ranked 25th). The Dons fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Dons in their meetings with the Golden Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Spanish Fork took Maple Mountain into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-21, 22-25, 20-25, 15-7.

Meanwhile, Bonneville lost 3-0 to Clearfield on Thursday.

While Bonneville was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 25-20.

Bonneville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Spanish Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14.
