Baseball Recap: Midway Takes a Loss

Midway fell victim to Greenback and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 6-0 to the Cherokees. The Green Wave haven't had much luck with the Cherokees recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Midway saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Travis Shaw, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Midway's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-9. As for Greenback, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

While Midway had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
