Baseball Recap: Randolph County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Randolph County had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 21-4 margin over the Wellborn Panthers on Tuesday. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Michael Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.

In other batting news, Daniel Jones and Creed Blankenship did most of the damage at the plate: Jones scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Blankenship scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Ryder Pinson, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Randolph County's record is now 2-9. As for Wellborn, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
