Basketball Recap: Floyd County Comes Up Short

Floyd County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Radford Bobcats. The Buffaloes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 64-49.

Radford found their leader in sophomore Kearson Carter, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. Carter has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Angel Thompson, who posted ten points and four steals.

Floyd County's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Radford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-11.

While Floyd County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
