Basketball Recap: Starpoint Falls Short of Health Sciences Charter in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Starpoint can now relate to. They were dealt a 73-46 defeat at the hands of the Health Sciences Charter Falcons on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Falcons are ranked 206th).

Starpoint moved to 6-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points over those games. As for Health Sciences Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Starpoint does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Health Sciences Charter, they will challenge Sweet Home at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
