Meanwhile, Grayson faced Cherokee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Grayson snuck past Cherokee with a 53-48 victory.

Newton's win bumped their record up to 24-5. As for Grayson, their victory bumped their record up to 30-1.

Newton came up short against Grayson in their previous meeting back in February, falling 50-44. Can Newton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
