Baseball Recap: Salado Wins Going Away Against Sterling

Salado never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Sterling on Friday. Everything went their way against the Sterling Rangers as they made off with a 12-5 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Brayden Naegele was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Preston, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Salado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Salado's victory bumped their record up to 2-4-1. As for Sterling, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coming up, Salado will challenge Porter at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sterling, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-0 win against Burbank on the 1st.
