Recap: Carey Blue Devils vs. Elmwood Royals
The Carey Blue Devils won the last time they faced the Elmwood Royals, and things went their way on Monday too. Carey took down Elmwood 45-30. Given Carey's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Elmwood is ranked 655th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carey's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylee Row, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Rachel Reinhart, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Carey is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Elmwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Carey will be playing in front of their home fans against Arcadia at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Arcadia will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Carey surely won't give up without a fight. As for Elmwood, they will head out on the road to take on Van Buren at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Elmwood is coming into the game with 12 straight defeats on the road, meaning Van Buren will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
