Softball Game Preview: Homer Trojans vs. Cazenovia Lakers

Homer hasn't had much luck against Cazenovia recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Lakers at 5:00 p.m. Homer has given up an average of 13.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Homer is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Jordan-Elbridge, falling 13-3.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Cazenovia and Skaneateles, and Skaneateles kept the tradition alive. Cazenovia fell just short of Skaneateles by a score of 9-8 on Monday.

Sophie Wilmot and Caitee Fenton did some serious damage despite the final result: Wilmot got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Fenton got on base in two of her four plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

Cazenovia has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Homer, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Homer suffered a grim 19-4 defeat to Cazenovia in their previous meeting on April 7th. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
