Volleyball Recap: Cali Tangaan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory over Saint Francis

After flying high against Archbishop Riordan on Tuesday, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory came back down to earth. The Fightin' Irish lost 3-0 to the Saint Francis Lancers on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17, 25-21.

Several Fightin' Irish players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cali Tangaan, who had 23 assists and 11 digs. Tangaan has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Saint Francis, their victory bumped their record up to 17-10.
