Softball Recap: Neptune Comes Up Short

The Neptune Scarlet Fliers lost 16-4 to the Liberty Lions on Wednesday. The Scarlet Fliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lauren Cassidy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Forgach, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Neptune's loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for Liberty, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neptune will face off against Long Branch at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty, they will square off against Lakewood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
