Preview: Meade Buffaloes vs. Holcomb Longhorns
Meade has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Friday. They will square off against the Holcomb Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Meade focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Meade had to settle for a 47-44 defeat against Wichita County.
Despite the defeat, Meade saw an underclassman step up: Sayler Stapleton scored 18 points along with 4 steals. Dallas Sherman was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Holcomb gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cimarron 61-34 at home.
Bucklin's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Meade's defeat dropped theirs to 0-1.
Meade might still be hurting after the 55-34 loss they got from Holcomb in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Meade avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
