Basketball Game Preview: Cary Imps vs. Franklinton Red Rams

The Cary Imps and the Franklinton Red Rams will compete for holiday cheer at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Cary is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Green Level on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Cary lost 49-23 to Green Level. The Imps haven't had much luck with the Gators recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, Franklinton earned a 40-32 win over Nash Central on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Red Rams' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 127th).

Franklinton's win came from a few key players Cary will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Meredith Wilkins, who posted 11 points. Layla Perry was another key player, putting up eight points.

Cary's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Franklinton, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
