Softball Recap: Peninsula Panthers vs. South Spartans

Peninsula was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell just short of the South Spartans by a score of 11-10. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Peninsula of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2021.

Peninsula got a massive performance out of Hailey Lang, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Saniah Ramirez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.

On South's side, Isabella Cacatian was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Hina Usuda, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Peninsula's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for South, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.

Peninsula does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South, they will head out on the road to square off against Wiseburn- Da Vinci at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. South is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
