Laurel came tearing into Wednesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Oxon Hill Clippers with a sharp 17-5 victory. 17 seems to be a good number for the Spartans as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Laurel's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Oxon Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
