Basketball Recap: Lightridge Takes a Loss

Lightridge has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Briar Woods Falcons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bolts have suffered since February 2, 2024.

Briar Woods' win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sadie Auch, who went 5 of 10 to rack up 16 points and seven rebounds. Auch continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nina Keltz, who went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points.

Lightridge's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Briar Woods, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Lightridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Potomac Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Briar Woods, they will head out on the road to take on Independence at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
