Soccer Game Preview: Central Valley vs. Ceres

The Central Valley Hawks will face off against the Ceres Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Central Valley's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Lathrop by a score of 2-0. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Spartans are ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Ceres beat Beyer 2-0 on Tuesday.

Leo Baez was the driving force of Ceres' attack as he scored both of Ceres' goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

Central Valley's win bumped their record up to 9-5-6. As for Ceres, they now have a winning record of 6-5-4.

Everything went Central Valley's way against Ceres in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, as Central Valley made off with a 5-0 victory. Will Central Valley repeat their success, or does Ceres have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
