Baseball Game Preview: Mesa Ridge Grizzlies vs. Palmer Ridge Bears

The Mesa Ridge Grizzlies and the Palmer Ridge Bears will meet on Tuesday for a tough Bear Battle. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Mesa Ridge and six for Palmer Ridge.

On Saturday, Mesa Ridge didn't have quite enough to beat Severance and fell 3-2.

Gabriel Montijo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Palmer Ridge started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Pueblo County. They lost 11-1 to the Hornets on Saturday.

Palmer Ridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Weaver, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Palmer Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Mesa Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-7.

Mesa Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Palmer Ridge in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 14-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mesa Ridge since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
