Football Game Preview: St. Albans Red Dragons vs. Chapmanville Regional Tigers

The St. Albans Red Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the Chapmanville Regional Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Albans has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with ten straight defeats, while Chapmanville Regional will come in with nine straight wins.

On Friday, St. Albans took a blow against Logan, falling 41-6. While losing is never fun, the Red Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Wildcats are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Chapmanville Regional got themselves on the board against Mingo Central on Friday, but Mingo Central never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 46-0 victory over the Miners. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 35 points or more this season.

St. Albans better keep an eye on Dakota Dalton. He was instrumental in Chapmanville Regional's win, rushing for 70 yards and two TDs on only five carries, while also throwing for 116 yards and one touchdown. Those 70 rushing yards gave Dalton a new career-high. Trey Ward made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Chapmanville Regional didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Austin Adkins and Ward. Ward got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Chapmanville Regional's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for St. Albans, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
